Black and white
In European cultures, the colour black is associated with funerals and mourning.
At the same time, black also symbolizes elegance, sophistication, and mystery.
In contrast, ancient Egyptians and Indians saw black as the colour of life. In Chinese culture, black is linked to happiness and the vitality of youth.
I think and see in black and white — because there is no white without black.
just as there is no good without bad.
Black and white photography holds its own kind of magic.
It is the art of capturing detail and conveying emotion. It invites you to see the atmosphere — once you open your eyes and allow yourself to truly perceive it.
In my opinion, the subtle play of feelings and emotions can only be fully expressed in black and white.
Precisely because the absence of colour shifts our attention: with only two tones, we focus more on the gaze, facial expressions, and emotions — rather than the background.
We notice the details, not just the image as a whole.
It’s all a matter of opening your eyes to really see.
“Reality is more real when it is painted in black and white.”
